Birthing Support
-
2 x Antenatal Visits: (usually around 34 and 36 weeks but the exact timing is up to you) – At these visits, we will discuss your birth wishes and work together to make a “birth plan/wishes” if that is something you feel would be helpful. We will also discuss any concerns and questions, hopes and fears you may have. I will try to get to know you as much as possible and anyone else who will be involved in the birth, so that I can support you all as fully as possible, antenatally, and during the birth itself. I am here to support you through whatever path you birth takes - homebirth, vaginal hospital birth (labour ward or birth centre), c-section (planned or unplanned), freebirth.

-
On Call: from 38 weeks – I will be on call for you, 24 hours a day.

-
Labour: once you are in labour, I will be with you as soon as we decide together that the time feels right; supporting you, empowering you, and enabling you to make informed decisions, facilitating communication between you and the medical professionals, providing practical, emotional and physical support during the exciting period just before you meet your baby! I can also document the birth with photos and videos if you would like. I will stay with you once your baby is born until you feel ready for me to go home so you can enjoy time as a new family.

-
1 x Postnatal Visit – I will visit you following the birth of your baby, debrief your birth with you, provide feeding help and advice if needed and make sure everyone is feeling happy and supported. I will bring you a freshly prepared meal as well if you would like.
